Anna Brass

Anna Brass (*1981) ist eine deutsche Dokumentarfilmregisseurin mit Kamera-Expertise. In ihren Arbeiten experimen­tiert Brass gerne mit Formen des dokumentarischen Erzählens von der Leinwand bis ins Internet. Zu sehen sind ihre preisgekrönten Werke auf internationalen Festivals, im Fernsehen, Theater, Ausstellungen. Brass lebte für mehrere Monate in Amerika und Frankreich und reist auch für Dreharbeiten regelmäßig ins Ausland. Mit ihren Filmen ist Anna Brass oft zu Gast an Universitäten im In- und Ausland. Auch arbeitet sie als Jurymitglied und Moderatorin auf Filmfestivals (Hofer Filmtage, Biberacher Filmfestspiele, Dok.fest München, u.a.).

Seit 2019 unterstützt Anna Brass die Dokumentarfilm-Abteilung der HFF München als künstlerisch-wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin. Anna Brass hat zwei Studienabschlüsse (Kulturwirtschaft, Universität Passau & Université de Provence Aix-Marseille I / Dokumentarfilm Regie, HFF München) und wohnt mit ihrer Familie in München.

Anna Brass (b. 1981) is a German documentary filmmaker with expertise in cinematography. In her work, Brass enjoys experimenting with forms of documentary storytelling, from the big screen to the internet. Her award-winning works can be seen at international festivals, on television, in theaters, and at exhibitions. Brass lived in the United States and France for several months and regularly travels abroad for film shoots. Anna Brass is a frequent guest at universities in Germany and abroad to present her films. She also serves as a jury member and moderator at film festivals (Hofer Filmtage, Biberacher Filmfestspiele, Dok.fest München, among others).

Since 2019, Anna Brass has been supporting the documentary film department at the HFF Munich as an artistic and academic staff member. Anna Brass holds two degrees (Cultural Management, University of Passau & Université de Provence Aix-Marseille I / Documentary Film Directing, HFF Munich) and lives with her family in Munich.
